Part of the original DNA of our church is a heart for reaching people with tangible needs - to be the kind of church our communities would miss if we were gone. As the kingdom of darkness seeks to enslave people through hunger, homelessness, addiction, racial injustice, poverty, isolation, mental and physical disabilities and illnesses, and despair, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus liberating people. One humble act of serving at a time, we reach those who feel as if they have no voice and no hope through something we call "Code Red."

IN 2021

we gave over $300,000 outside our walls to serve those in the community.
we gave 200,000+ pounds of food to those in need.

GIVING OUR FIRST

10% of every dollar we receive goes outside our walls. we increased that amount to 11% this year, with plans to increase it 1% every year until 2025.

OPENING THE FOOD DISTRIBUTION CENTER

As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world by a storm, we recognized the need to feed those in Journey City. On August 5th, we opened our Food Distribution Center on the back of our Newark location. The opening represents hope for so many who have been and will be fed physically and spiritually within Journey City. So far we have been able to feed over 500 families every month through food distribution events since August.

OF HOPE

ZACK'S STORY

We plant churches, serve overseas, and raise up leaders around the world. We utilize an annual church-wide “Love Week” to move people from apathy to awareness and awareness to action. Zach shares, “For me, getting into service meant getting out of self-centeredness and doing something bigger than me. Serving will awaken your spirit and start a communication with God that he has wanted with you for a long time. It will change you from the inside out.”

SAM'S STORY

“In September, I was able to participate in my first short-term mission trip to the LA Dream Center in Los Angeles. During the trip, we did anything from praying for inmates, to preparing & serving food, to connecting with people experiencing homelessness in the community. One of my favorite serving days was when we brought some much needed furniture to a mother who was at risk of losing her children if she did not have another bed in the home to sleep in. I was able to spend time with her in her home with her 5 year old daughter. The young girl showed me her favorite toys and practiced writing for me. During our trip, I connected with many different community outreach programs to bring the love of Jesus to people who need it most.”
